Motor City Gas Check Presentation(Auburn Hills), Mich. – Dec 27, 2018 –  Genisys Credit Union recently awarded several Spirit of Main Street Micro Business Grants through the Oakland County Main Street Program. The grants are awarded to downtown management organizations or small businesses that are in designated Main Street communities and have been established for less than 5 years.

“It is so important to invest in our communities,” said Jackie Buchanan, Genisys Credit Union’s President, and CEO. “We are happy to be able to help these businesses and look forward to their success.”

Companies from various cities and industries submitted applications for consideration. The companies that were selected to receive the grants were the Ortonville DDA, Motor City Gas in Royal Oak, T. Ramsey & Associates in Pontiac, Folio Offices in Berkley, Pawsitive Care in Holly, and the Highland DDA. The grants will be utilized by the recipients for building renovations, fixtures, marketing support and business development activities.

“We are pleased to partner with Genisys Credit union on the inaugural Spirit of Main Street Start Up Business Grants. We are proud to be home to the only countywide Main Street Program in the United States, and be able to provide a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and small businesses through partnerships such as this with the private sector and Oakland County,” said John Bry, Principal Planner at Oakland County Main Street.
