8 Shopping Hacks to Fall for this Autumn

Fall is here — complete with crisp air, pumpkin-spiced everything and some of the best shopping of the year. Grab a sweater, pour yourself a cup of cider and check out these fall shopping hacks to make the most of the season. 

1. Shop end-of-season summer clearance 

As summer winds down, retailers are eager to clear out tank tops, swimwear, patio furniture and grills. Stores like Target, Walmart and other chains slash prices by up to 70% in September. 

2. Buy in-season produce at farmer’s markets 

Fall is harvest time! Farmer’s markets are brimming with affordable, fresh produce like apples, squash, sweet potatoes and pumpkins. Prices are often lower than grocery stores, especially later in the day. 

3. Time your clothing purchases 

Retailers release fall collections in early September at full price, but markdowns typically hit by mid-to-late October. If you can hold off on that new jacket or pair of boots, you’ll find deeper discounts and clearance options — just in time for cooler temps.
