Throughout 2021 and 2022, members, employees, friends and family of Genisys Credit Union raised funds for Oakland Livingston Human Service Agencies (OLHSA) annual Walk for Warmth Campaign. From their efforts, the credit union is proud to make a $28,150 donation to OLHSA.
“Working in partnership with service agencies like OLHSA gives Genisys an opportunity to support our community neighbors,” said Jackie Buchanan, President & CEO of Genisys Credit Union. “A big thank you to our employees, members, friends and family for the dedication and enthusiasm they have towards our fundraising campaign to benefit OLHSA’s Walk for Warmth. This would not be possible without your support.”
During the year, Genisys staff hosts a variety of fundraisers throughout the credit union’s Oakland County branches and their Corporate Office to raise funds to donate to Walk for Warmth.
“We are thankful to OLHSA’s Walk for Warmth supporters and our premier sponsor, Genisys Credit Union, for raising funds that help grandparents, children, and other residents in Oakland and Livingston Counties that are struggling with energy needs,” said Susan Harding, OLHSA CEO. “Walk donations reduce financial burdens for local families and provide connections to Community Action programs such as early education, employment coaching, weatherization of homes, and older adult services that support family economic success.”
Walk for Warmth is an annual community event that brings together individuals, families, businesses, and community organizations to help vulnerable households by raising funds to provide assistance for heating expenses during the winter months. In total, the various funds raised from Walk for Warmth were able to help over 400 people throughout Oakland County with 139 being children.
