Genisys Credit Union Seeking Applications for the Holiday Extravaganza Fran Anderson Making a Difference Scholarship
Auburn Hills, Mich. – October 15, 2015 -- Genisys Credit Union, which provides services to anyone who lives or works in the Lower Peninsula of Michigan, is seeking applications for the 2015 Holiday Extravaganza Fran Anderson Making a Difference Scholarship.
The Fran Anderson Making a Difference Scholarship is named after an inspirational woman who was the epitome of the phrase “Making a Difference”. Prior to her death in 2013, Mrs. Anderson contributed professionally as a teacher, community volunteer, and to countless civic, social, political, educational, and youth organizations. She was a member of the Holiday Extravaganza Advisory Board of Directors and always provided her time and talents to help various causes.
Any high school student living in the communities of Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Waterford, and White Lake may apply for the $1,000 scholarship, sponsored by Genisys Credit Union. In addition to the application, a 250 (minimum) word essay will need to be submitted on what you have done to “Make a Difference” in your community. An essay may also be submitted on behalf of someone else.
To be selected, the student MUST be available to attend the Junior Grand Marshal special program and PARADE on Saturday, December 5. The application deadline is November 1, 2015.
