OAKLAND COUNTY – Oakland County Parks and Recreation welcomes visitors to the annual Family Fall Festival at the Oakland County Market to celebrate the season on Saturday, Oct. 26.
The Family Fall Festival is free and runs from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. The event is sponsored by Genisys Credit Union and features locally grown produce, flowers, jewelry and crafts, baked goods, the Detroit Pistons Hoop Truck; pumpkin painting; live animals with the 4-H club; inflatables; rock climbing tower; and games for the kids.
“The fall festival is a great way to support local farmers and artisans and participate in some fun family games. Red Wood Grill will provide chili and other barbecue lunch options and Let’s Pop will offer hot dogs, kettle corn and ‘walking waffles’ available for purchase,” Oakland County Market Manager Jeremy Brown said.
Late October produce includes apples, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, onions, potatoes, rutabagas, squash and turnips (subject to availability).
The Oakland County Market is located at 2350 Pontiac Lake Road in Waterford. The market is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays now through December from 7 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Flea Market is open year round on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
