Auburn Hills, MI, April 27, 2012 – Genisys Credit Union recently sponsored Affirmations’ 13th Annual Spring Bash Fundraiser at the Detroit Institute of Arts. This year’s theme for the black tie affair was “The Art of Re~Creation,” which combined the elegance of the Detroit Institute of Arts with the excitement and vision of the new Executive Director, Antonio David Garcia, under the grandeur of the Walter B. Ford Great Hall. Guests were also able to tour both the American and Impressionist Galleries.
“We haven’t had a formal event like this in years, and it was a great introduction for David Garcia,” said Mark McMillan, Affirmations Event Manager.
Around 300 people attended, selling out two weeks prior to the event. Affirmations raised over $60,000 and celebrated 22 years.
Daniel Cascardo also provided his Live Art Action Experience in the Diego Rivera Court throughout the evening. His piece will be unveiled in June, and Affirmations will take a digital image of his work to sell at this year’s Pride.
An after party was held at Vincente’s Cuban Cuisine for guests to enjoy refreshments and salsa dancing.
